How To Understand Poverty In Accra

Poverty is a significant issue in Accra, the capital city of Ghana. According to the World Bank, about 27% of the population in Accra lives below the poverty line. Factors contributing to poverty in Accra include limited access to education and job opportunities, high unemployment, and a lack of affordable housing.

Additionally, many residents of Accra live in informal settlements or slums, which lack basic infrastructure and services. Efforts to address poverty in Accra include government programs aimed at job creation, education and training opportunities, and improving access to housing. Additionally, there are many non-governmental organizations working to provide aid and support to those living in poverty in the city.
